Founded in 2008, Magnum quickly became an established well cementing service company with a broad operational footprint in North America.
Through those roots, Magnum continues to develop and diversify to offer our customers a unique blend of technical expertise with a history of project execution excellence. We are competent in providing primary and remedial (P&A) oilfield cementing services, downhole isolation technologies, soil stabilization and fluid services. Many of these services can be applied across various industries, such as oil & gas, agriculture, construction, roads and infrastructure, laydown yards, and retention ponds.

Our Team

BEERD BEEKMAN
President, Chief Executive Officer
Beerd founded Magnum Cementing Services in 2007, along with two other co-founders. Since then, Beerd’s leadership and commitment have built Magnum into the company it is today.
Having graduated from the University of Alberta with an engineering degree, Beerd has over 25 years of industry experience, with 15 of those years spent working for large Canadian pumping service companies, where his roles included Engineering, Sales, and Operation Management.

BRAND BEEKMAN
Chief Operating Officer
Brand has supported Magnum in a financial and corporate services capacity since 2007. He currently oversees the Administration, ESG, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Procurement departments.
Brand has over 22 years of financial experience, including 8 years as a Controller and 3 years of public practice. He has spent over 12 years in the financial sector within the industry. He obtained his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Lethbridge and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.

BRIAN LIM
Vice President, Technical Services & QHSE Officer
With Magnum since 2013, Brian is responsible for Magnum’s Engineering and Technical Services department. The Technical Services team includes our Engineering, Lab, Quality Assurance, and HSE teams. These teams strive to create technical job designs for all of Magnum’s service lines, as well as drive internal processes and the development of strong technical training, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.
Brian’s industry experience includes over 19 years in oilfield pumping services, completions in Steam-Assisted Gravity Drainage / Cold Heavy Oil Production, and development of oil and gas plays. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Calgary. Brian is also a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geoscientists of Alberta, and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

DOUG REDER
Vice President, Manufacturing
Doug oversees the manufacturing and fabrication of Magnum’s equipment fleet, providing a competitive edge for Magnum through continuous improvement in equipment design, utilization, and optimization of processes.
Doug began working in the oil and gas industry 30+ years ago manufacturing various types of oilfield equipment. He has traveled around the globe, visiting over 55 countries, both for onshore and offshore applications. Prior to joining Magnum, Doug held various positions in Operations, Manufacturing, Sales, Commissioning, and Service. Doug most recently acquired his Project Management certification with a focus to develop business efficiencies.

HOANG TRAN
Chief Financial Officer
Hoang began his career with Magnum as corporate Controller before moving into his current role of CFO, where he is responsible for establishing and managing the fiscal and financial framework for the organization from a strategic and operational perspective.
Prior to joining Magnum, Hoang spent 10 years in the construction industry, where he managed the group’s finance department. Hoang is a CPA-CMA and holds an MBA degree from the University of Toronto. He is fluent in Vietnamese and immigrated from Vietnam 23 years ago.

MIKE MULLALY
Vice President, Sales
Mike oversees operational activities at Magnum across North America, ensuring quality and productivity of services are maintained in every service that we provide. His team is committed to honest, reliable service every time.
Mike started with Magnum in 2015 as a Senior Sales Representative and quickly moved to Operations Manager. Mike has over 26 years of industry experience ranging from a hands-on field level operator to sales and management positions.

ROB SPILLER
Vice President, Maintenance
As a co-founder in 2007, Rob started in field operations and has continually advanced through several key positions within the company. Rob is currently responsible for ensuring that Magnum’s equipment meets operational requirements and organizational goals, which largely includes the maintenance of Magnum’s large fleet of equipment.
With more than 20 years of oilfield cementing experience in the Canadian market, Rob’s experience is integral to ensuring that all operational, organizational, and performance needs are met.
