Meet Ashraf
Show Up With Ambition. Leave With a Career. Ashraf’s Journey Across Lab, Field, and Technical Operations at Magnum Services
Careers in energy are often built by learning the business from multiple angles. Ashraf’s journey at Magnum Services is a great example of how curiosity, adaptability, and technical skill can open opportunities across departments.
During this time, Ashraf also played an important role in setting up the North Dakota laboratory and helping train new lab technicians as the team expanded. Working in the lab allowed him to build a strong technical foundation while supporting day-to-day laboratory operations and testing programs.
In February 2023, Ashraf made the decision to broaden his experience by transitioning into field operations. Starting as a green hand in the field, he quickly immersed himself in learning the operational side of cementing. Over the following months, he gained experience across several roles, including bulking and bin-haul operations, while learning how cementing jobs are executed on location.
As part of his commitment to growth, Ashraf earned his Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in October 2023, expanding his capabilities in the field and allowing him to take on greater operational responsibilities. He also gained valuable experience learning how pump trucks operate and how crews coordinate to safely execute cementing operations.
As his experience grew, Ashraf was promoted to Field Engineer, where he was responsible for overseeing job executions and ensuring operations were carried out safely and efficiently. In this role, he pumped cementing jobs across Colorado and Wyoming while collaborating with engineers and field teams to develop solutions and maintain safety and performance standards.
Beyond day-to-day operations, Ashraf also contributed to several internal technical initiatives. He helped develop the Imperial Technical Handbook and assisted with designing alternative cement blends during periods when supplier shortages required new solutions. During these times, he also supported the laboratory when additional technical expertise was needed.
Serving as a bridge between Technical Services and Operations, Ashraf’s role helped ensure that field teams had the technical support needed to execute jobs successfully. Along the way, he continued to build leadership skills by supervising cementing operations and eventually working as a job supervisor. As part of his professional development, he successfully completed both Supervisor I and Supervisor II training.
After spending several years in the field, Ashraf transitioned back into supporting the laboratory and technical teams in late November 2025, where he is currently expanding his knowledge of job design and continuing to strengthen collaboration between laboratory, technical services, and field operations.
