USA North Dakota – Plug and Abandonment (Remedial)

May 26, 2021 | Case Studies

USA North Dakota Stick

Optimizing time and reducing costs with multi-zonal isolations

In North Dakota, Magnum Cementing Services was actively involved in a plug and abandonment project requiring four or more intervals to abandon the well. The engineering, sales and operational teams conjointly achieved a successful result while reducing the time and overall AFE cost to the operator. For proper downhole abandonment, the average is two days of operational time and with this process of multi-zonal  isolation, it was reduced by 50%.

  • Three different formation types:
    Pierre 665ft (203m)
    Mowry 2577ft (785m)
    Madison 4584ft (1397m)
  • Casing Data
    Surface: 8.625” 417ft (127m)
    Production: 5.5” 4659ft (1420m)

Through designed and tested cement blends and operational experience, the Magnum team utilized communication with all services on site to produce a highly desirable outcome; executing complex projects with a high level of trust and dependability while increasing efficiencies in the industry for our clients.
